KEYCOMM - The Key to Communication Through Technology

Switch Play Learning And Technology

The SPLAT Toy Library provides switch adapted toys to young children in Edinburgh who because of some form of disability are unable to play with ordinary toys, but who can activate a switch.

The SPLAT Toy Library is part of the KEYCOMM service to young children (aged 0-3 years) and their families.  It was set up in March 2000, made possible by generous funding from Sure Start Scotland. It is open Monday to Friday for parents and key professionals to visit and borrow toys and switches.

A special needs therapist is available to carry out a communication and switch assessment to find the right toys and switch access for individual children.  She can assess children at KEYCOMM, visit them at home or children and family centre/ nursery.
